Is there any hope of getting Amazon Checkout working with this?  I'm totally willing to do some leg work, but I'm just wondering if it's possible.  If it's not, well, I wish it was.

There sure is! I'm working (albeit very slowly) on a new version of QuickShop so that there is an API for this kind of thing as well.

All that's required is a new widget function with Amazon-specific setup (A direct copy of the Paypal code could probably be used with some minor changes).
